Last Wednesday, we hosted a webinar on the global Venture Capital (VC) landscape. The event featured the participation of Wolney Betiol, founder of Synapse Ventures, Rodrigo Louro, CEO of Turim UK, and Rafael Holtz Betiol, a portfolio analyst at Synapse.

Initially, Louro provided updates on the investments made by Synapse Venture I, II, and III funds, presenting performance metrics and some relevant case studies. Focused on Silicon Valley but investing in the most mature venture capital ecosystems on the planet, these funds identify the best investment opportunities in this asset class.

Wolney presented the VC landscape worldwide, highlighting trends and sharing data on global VC capital invested in the first half of 2023. “In the Early Stage and Growth stages, there was a balance in the supply and demand for capital in the US. However, in the Late Stage, the power still lies with the capital. In other words, the volume of capital demanded by companies and entrepreneurs exceeds the available capital,” observed Wolney.

During the discussion, we also talked about how artificial intelligence will transform the way companies operate and how we live. Another industry that deserved attention was Gaming, which has consistently stood out among various VC managers, being the fastest-growing segment within the Entertainment sector. Rafael pointed out that one of the main reasons for this is that users and consumers spend more time on gaming platforms and spend more money, which drives monetization and engagement metrics in this sector compared to Cinematography and Music.
