Today, at our São Paulo office, we held an event on “Succession and Governance in Family Businesses,” featuring Renata Bernhoeft and Wagner Luiz Teixeira, partners at Höft Consultoria. In an enriching discussion, we addressed the main challenges and opportunities related to family succession, highlighting Höft’s exclusive methodology, which has been a reference in transforming family businesses for 49 years.

During the event, we discussed the importance of family governance as a key pillar to ensure an effective generational transition and the continuity of family businesses. One of the event’s highlights was the analysis of family business survival statistics, revealing that only 4% make it to the fourth generation.

Renata, an expert in generational transitions and family governance, shared her vast experience in structuring shareholder protocols and implementing governance frameworks. Wagner emphasized the importance of careful planning to ensure the longevity of family businesses and presented success stories of companies that overcame these challenges.
