The Decorator’s House: The Future Is No Longer, by Marco A. Castillo
Guided Visit
Today, we visited the exhibition The Decorator’s House: The Future Is No Longer, by Marco A. Castillo, at the iconic Casa Domschke in São Paulo.
A Cuban artist, Castillo presents in this exhibition a body of work grounded in his investigation of architecture, design, and their cultural meanings, exploring elements such as furniture, ornamentation, and visual language as symbolic constructions.
Installed within the residence designed by Vilanova Artigas, the exhibition establishes a direct dialogue with the space, activating the house as part of the experience and expanding the layers of interpretation between artwork, architecture, and context.
The experience was enriched by the guidance of Theo Monteiro, curator and researcher at Nara Roesler, who offered perspectives that deepened the understanding of both the works and the space.
At Turim, we value moments like this—those that broaden perspectives, encourage reflection, and strengthen connections through culture—and we thank Nara Roesler for the partnership in making this experience possible.
