Demystifying AI

Yesterday, September 10th, we held a happy hour at our São Paulo office with the theme “Demystifying AI,” featuring special guests Mike Schuster, Head of Artificial Intelligence and Managing Director at Two Sigma, and Roberto Hernández Raaen, CFA, Senior Vice President at Two Sigma.

Two Sigma, a New York-based hedge fund, uses advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop data-driven investment strategies.

During the panel, moderated by our partner Rodrigo L., Schuster highlighted AI advancements in the investment space, mentioning innovations such as speech recognition, language models, and the impact of technologies like AlphaGo, with a special focus on the financial sector.

We also discussed the challenges of AI adoption, including the need for large volumes of data, cutting-edge technology, and highly qualified teams. Schuster presented how large language models are shaping the future, making applications like complex data extraction more accessible.
