New tax reform proposal
and its impacts on Individuals
When it comes to tax reform, there are many doubts around what measures the government will take and, if approved, their effects on the wealth and succession planning of Brazilians. It was with this in mind that Turim MFO promoted this webinar.
To talk about the topic, we welcomed Humberto Sanches, partner at Ulhôa Canto, Rezende e Guerra Advogados, member of STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners). According to him, the discussion was boosted by the pandemic, which made the need for greater government revenue urgent to cover the extra expenses.
“In the face of the crisis, an opportunity is created to carry out a reform with an effective increase in the tax burden, which will fall on those who have the capacity to pay these taxes”, he explains, highlighting the importance of wealth planning. “For this reason, it is necessary to be attentive to families’ needs in Brazil, and in all countries. Planning today is global”.
The conversation was mediated by the Turim’s: Eduardo Almeida, co-CEO; Luisa Saboia, member of STEP and responsible for Legal and Compliance; and Roberta Goulart, Partner and member of the Client Relations team.
